What is marlin fishing?

Marlin fishing is one of the most thrilling experiences in sport fishing.
It gives an incredible adrenaline rush because of the fish’s explosiveness, strength, speed, and fighting spirit.

A battle with a large marlin can last for hours, with deep dives and massive leaps as the fish resists with all its might.
Marlins are powerful and among the fastest creatures on earth.
They test not just your gear, but your physical and mental endurance.

Marlin fishing requires strategy and teamwork — between the angler, captain, and deckhand — to land the fish properly.
Most marlins are released after being caught (catch & release) to help protect the population.

Personal

To me, the moment I catch a marlin is a mix of excitement, pride, and respect for the animal.
I spent most of my youth in Jamaica.
With the warm sun, sound of the waves, and the energy of the island and its people — that’s where I feel most at home.

From long days at sea to evenings full of music and stories, the island lives in my heart and made me who I am.
Fishing has been my passion since childhood.
There’s something special about the sea — the silence, the waves, gazing at the horizon, letting your soul drift — until the reel screams, and you’ve got a strike.
In a second, the entire team is alert. Everyone knows their role. The teamwork unfolds as we try to bring in the marlin.

During one of the most challenging marlin tournaments I ever took part in,
I managed to catch five marlins and finished in second place — with blisters on my hands.
